Believer's Baptism
The Bible teaches that baptism is an ordinance. As Christians, we believe baptism is the immersion
in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit with the
authority of the local church. Baptism is a solemn and beautiful symbol of our faith in the crucified,
buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life.
Only those individuals who have repented (exercised a change of mind) and have placed personal
faith in Jesus Christ, having experienced the new birth, are eligible to be baptized (2). God's order is
always first, which then produces obedience (3).
