Congregational Government
The New Testament church, which is His body, includes all born again believers from the day of
Pentecost until the rapture of the church. It consists of the called-out ones from this world and is
distinguishable from Jews and Gentiles (1). Although this church was in the mind of God before the
foundation of the world (2), Its actual beginning was on the day of Pentecost (3).

The New Testament church, under the Holy Spirit's leadership, is responsible to elect its own
officers and to determine its own course of action. The scriptural officers in our church are pastors
and deacons (4).

As fellow believers, we are the ones who are responsible to the Lord to maintain New Testament
Bible-believing churches. The challenge is to the church, but when God says, "Church," He means
you.
