How to Join Chocolate Bayou Baptist Church
Our guests often have questions about church membership. That’s great, because we want to help you
with this important decision. At CBBC we considered our church body more than a membership with
special benefits, but rather we are a partnership. Romans 12:4-18 (NIV) says:
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ
we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the
grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his[b]faith. 7If it is serving, let him serve; if it is
teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give
generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Who May Partner with Chocolate Bayou Baptist Church?
If you would like to partner with CBBC, please talk with our pastor after the Morning Worship Celebration
or contact him at the church office 281-331-4619 to set up a visit before making this decision. We do this
in order that the pastor can meet with each membership candidate, answer questions, and share with
them about the church and expectations of each person that partners with CBBC as a believer in the body
of Christ. Following that visit, if partnership is desired, the pastor will present you at the end of the
Morning Worship Celebration. Other arrangements can be made, but please contact the pastor.
How May I Participate In The Life Of The Church
Before I Decide To Partner?
You have many opportunities to take an active part in the life of the church family...
I Still Have Some Questions.
That is not unusual. You are dealing with the most important decision of your life...what you will do with
Jesus Christ. If you want to speak further about these matters, please call 281-331-4619 and request an
appointment in your home or at the church.
- Anyone who has made a personal commitment to follow Jesus Christ, and who has been baptized
by immersion as a symbol of his or her faith is welcome to become a church member. Click Here to

- If you have made a commitment to Christ, but have not been baptized by immersion as a symbol of
your faith, you may request membership in CBBC by baptism. Click Here to know more about

- If you are a member/partner of a church of another denomination and have been baptized by
immersion, let’s talk! [Call our pastor and share your story, 281-331-4619]
- If you are a member/partner of another Baptist Church, you may request that we ask for your
membership to be transferred to CBBC.
If you would like to partner with CBBC, please talk with our pastor after the Morning Worship Celebration

- Participate in one of our Small Groups.
- Take part in The People's Fellowship on Sunday Evenings.
- Attend a fellowship gathering.
